

About the Artist
ROBERT BLANCAS
Artist from Fresno, CA specializing in Portraits, Comic Book Art and Graphic Design.
Robert started drawing at a very young age, but had no idea he wanted to become an Artist. It wasn't until his mother gave him a Marvel Avengers comic book as a child that it sparked an immediate interest. The cover of that book just blew his mind and he immediately knew he wanted to become a Comic Book Artist. Robert began copying and tracing the pictures, studying other comics, and finding any book he could on drawing. Robert eventually studied Art at Fresno State University where he developed the skills and techniques that have shaped his career.
Robert has done countless Art commissions and Graphic Design work for a variety of clients. He has been a Featured Artist on local television newscasts and has been published as a Comic Book Artist, inking a few independent books. Robert is the Illustrator of two award-winning and best selling Children's books: Brave Lolis Learns English and Brave Lolis's Box of Hope where he was honored with the International Latino Award for his interior art. Most recently, Robert was commissioned to work on Marvel Renditions Spider-Man trading cards from the Upper Deck Company., realizing his dream of doing official Marvel Art.

Over the years, Robert has given class demonstrations on drawing at many elementary and high schools throughout the Central Valley. These 30 minute sessions show the importance of learning the basics and demonstrate how to create a human figure from a very simple stick figure. DEMONSTRATED HERE.

Currently, Robert makes his living as a Graphic Artist and is in the middle of a few exciting Art projects. He lives with his children and his pets. He is always trying to improve his craft and planning the next path his Art will take him.
