ROBERT BLANCAS Artist

Artist from Fresno, CA specializing in Portraits, Pencil and Ink work, Comic Book Art and Graphic Design.

I studied at Fresno State University (CSU, Fresno) where I majored in Art with an emphasis on Figure Drawing. Over the years, I have done countless Art commissions, Graphic Design work and have been published as a Comic Book Artist, inking a few independent books. Most recently, I am the Illustrator of 2 Children's books: Brave Lolis Learns English and Brave Lolis's Box of Hope. My work has also been featured on local television shows. I use Prismacolor pencils and pastels for a majority of my Portrait and Color Artwork. On occasion, I do use traditional graphite pencils, but have been preferring the color pencil for my work. I use Windsor & Newton Sable Hair #3 to ink my Comic Art along with some technical pens. I do color digitally with Adobe Photoshop, but prefer hands-on approach to my Artwork.

I also give class demonstrations on Drawing! Only requirement is they must be local area (Fresno/Clovis) and 4th grade and up. These are 30 minute minimum sessions where I discuss my techniques/experiences with my Art.

On a related note, I do offer Private Lessons for my Art Techniques. I simplify everything as much as possible for even the most novice student. I believe anyone can learn how to draw with time and dedication. Contact for more info!

For commissioned Artwork, I require 50% upfront cost to secure the commission (NO CHECKS). The balance to be due upon completion. I ask for 2 week turnaround time frame for completion. Pricing is discussed individually. All Art is different and takes a different amount of time.

I have been asked repeatedly to donate original Artwork for charity events/fundraisers. Currently, I must limit this to only 3 per year due to the time involved. Thanks for your understanding.

The Las Vegas Raiders artwork seen on the site is signed by former Las Vegas Raiders Quarterback, Derek Carr. It is exclusively available at A2Z Cards at the Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis, CA.  All signatures are authenticated.
